As a comparison, this year, for example, no weekdays have to be worked on Saturday.<br \/>\n\u2022 We will have 9 (!) long weekends. (In 2017 there will be three 3-day and two 4-day weekends.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where does this figure come from?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since holidays in 2018 will often fall to the middle of the week, the concept of work schedule is to have more long weekends with consecutive holidays, but in return a Saturday before or after the long weekend is declared a workday.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 200px; float: right;\" src=\"\/uploads\/images\/napt%C3%A1r.jpg\" alt=\"Long Weekends and Related Work Schedule Changes in 2018 in Hungary\" \/>Let\u2019s see which Saturdays will be officially workdays:<br \/>\nMarch 10, 2018<br \/>\nApril 21, 2018<br \/>\nOctober 13, 2018<br \/>\nNovember 10, 2018<br \/>\nDecember 1, 2018<br \/>\nDecember 15, 2018<\/p>\n<p>The days granted to connect the public holidays with the weekend will be as follows:<br \/>\nMarch 16, 2018 Friday rest day<br \/>\nApril 30, 2018 Monday rest day<br \/>\nOctober 22, 2018 Monday rest day<br \/>\nNovember 2, 2018 Friday rest day<br \/>\nDecember 24, 2018 Monday rest day<br \/>\nDecember 31, 2018 Monday rest day<\/p>\n<p><strong>March 15 <\/strong>\u2013We will celebrate the commemoration of the revolution in 1948-49 with a 4-day long weekend.<br \/>\n<strong>Easter <\/strong>(March 30 \u2013 April 2) \u2013 This holiday follows the lunar calendar; in 2018 it will come very early. We\u2019ll have <strong>4 days<\/strong> to celebrate Easter.<br \/>\n<strong>Labor Day<\/strong> (May 1 \u2013 This day will fall on Tuesday, but Monday will also be granted to make for a <strong>4-day <\/strong>weekend.<br \/>\n<strong>Pentecost: <\/strong>(May 20-21) \u2013 If we start May with a holiday, we\u2019ll close it with another one, so we\u2019ll have a <strong>3-day<\/strong> weekend Pentecost Monday.<br \/>\n<strong>Augustus 20 <\/strong>\u2013 St. Stephen\u2019s Day will fall on Monday, so we\u2019ll again have a <strong>3-day<\/strong> weekend.<br \/>\n<strong>October 23<\/strong> \u2013 Commemoration of the revolution in 1956 will fall on Tuesday, but we\u2019ll work off Monday earlier, so there will be a <strong>4-day <\/strong>break.<br \/>\n<strong>All Hallows Day <\/strong>(Nov. 1.) \u2013 It will fall on Thursday, Friday will have to worked off on a Saturday, so there will be a <strong>4\u2013day<\/strong> break.<br \/>\n<strong>Christmas <\/strong>&#8211; (Dec. 24-26.)- Next year Christmas season will last until Wednesday: as Monday, December 24 will be worked off earlier, thanks to the <strong>5-day <\/strong>holiday, we can start the preparations already at the weekend.<br \/>\n<strong>New Year\u2019s Eve and Day<\/strong> &#8211; (Dec. 31-Jan. 01) We\u2019ll say goodbye to 2018 on Monday and can refresh ourselves on Tuesday, so a <strong>4-day <\/strong>long weekend will take us over to the next year.<\/p>\n<p>But how much work is ahead of us in the coming year? Well, compared to the previous years, we will work less, because<br \/>\nin case of an 8-hour working day, we\u2019ll work a total of 250 working days, that is 2000 hours.<br \/>\n<strong>261 paid days <\/strong>\u2013 with paid holidays, which is<strong> 2088 paid
