Bank holidays in 2015.

According to a decree of the Minister of National Economy Mihály Varga, three Saturdays will be working days in 2015 owing to changes of regular work schedule related to public holidays. The decree appeared in the Wednesday edition of Magyar Közlöny (Official Journal of Hungary).

Decree nr. 28/2014. (IX. 24.) of the Minister of National Economy on work schedule around bank holidays in 2015.

Work schedule around bank holidays in 2015 by way of derogation from the regular work schedule is as follows:

a) January 10, Saturday, workday

    January 2, Friday, day off

b) August 8, Saturday, workday

    August 21, Friday, day off

c) December 12, Saturday, workday

    December 24, Thursday, day off

  • The decree applies to all employers and employees working in regular working hours.
  • According to section (1) 96. § of Act 1 of the Labor Code of 2012, the work schedule of those not working in regular working hours may be determined differently that described in 2. §.
  • This decree shall enter into force on 1 January 2015 and expire on 31 December 2015.
