Due to the rhythm of Hungarian legislation, the Gazette issues published at the end of December often override earlier expectations. This is why we made a conscious decision: although we continuously monitored and shared the draft regulations, we waited for the final versions of the laws before preparing our team operationally.
Presentation and consultation
At our professional day last week, our team reviewed the 2026 tax changes with the help of an invited expert. Instead of a theoretical overview, we requested a consultation focusing on the industry-specific characteristics of our clients and the uncertainties in past taxation periods.
We had previously covered topics such as the rules of statutory audits for 2025–2026 or the digital changes affecting the publication of financial statements, but the practical application based on the now‑published, final legal texts was still pending.
Why did the entire team participate in the training?
The focus of the professional day was on our accounting and payroll colleagues, as they support our partners in their daily operational work. Our colleagues from the audit department also participated. Their presence was important so they could understand first-hand the complex challenges clients may face when applying the new rules.
This joint preparation ensures that our office fully understands the tasks ahead of our clients, taking into account, for example, the framework set by the 2026 working schedule.
How does this support our work together?
The insights gained during the professional day will directly contribute to the support we provide to our clients:
• We build on facts: We offer advice based on the final and published regulations and the uncertainties identified, helping to avoid decisions based on changing draft versions.
• Clarifying past uncertainties: The consultation included a review of previously questioned taxation points from earlier periods.
• Direct assistance: As seen at our “Tax Changes 2026” event, our preparation aims to provide accurate and up‑to‑date answers to arising questions.
Most of our clients come to us seeking professional security, but they stay with us for decades because we pair our expertise with genuine intent to help and attentive support. This process requires significant background work, continuous professional development, and innovation—much of which happens behind the scenes. With this post, we wanted to offer a glimpse into that background work.
We believe this investment is what truly pays off in our cooperation.
